Art. 1 Introduction
Committed to the highest standards of ethics, integrity and sustainability, Data Riders reaffirms the importance of protecting and promoting human rights at every level of its operations and relationships. We align our consulting services and internal processes with international guidelines — TSM (Towards Sustainable Mining) and The Copper Mark — which require not only technical excellence but also social responsibility and unconditional respect for human dignity.
Art. 2 Objectives & scope
- Formalise Data Riders' commitment to respect, protect and promote human rights.
- Establish clear guidelines to identify, prevent and remediate human-rights violations.
- Apply to all employees, consultants, directors, interns, partners and suppliers acting in Data Riders' name.
- Cover all functional areas — from recruitment to project delivery and stakeholder relations.
Art. 3 Fundamental principles
- Treat every person with respect and dignity, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other personal characteristic.
- Guarantee equal opportunities in hiring, promotion, training and compensation.
- Foster inclusive, safe environments where individuals can express their potential freely.
- Reject all prejudice and discrimination and evaluate competence equitably.
- Ensure internal policies promote fairness and do not produce disparate impact.
Art. 4 Equal opportunity & DE&I
Data Riders commits to build diverse teams and assess competence on merit. DE&I is a project input, not a PR output: we factor it into hiring, partnerships, supplier selection and project design. More details are in our dedicated DEI & Sustainability commitment.
Art. 5 Violence prevention
Data Riders maintains zero tolerance for any form of violence — physical, psychological, moral, sexual or digital.
- Implement proactive measures to prevent child labour, modern slavery, harassment and any other human-rights violation.
- Promote early identification of high-risk situations through active listening and regular risk analysis.
- Apply immediate corrective action whenever violations affecting human dignity are detected.
Art. 6 Protection of vulnerable groups
Prioritise the safety and well-being of women, Black people, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ and other historically marginalised groups in every project and internal practice.
Art. 7 Reporting channel
Data Riders provides safe and confidential channels for employees, suppliers, clients and stakeholders to report concerns, suggestions or suspicions of human-rights violations. Write to [email protected] with the subject "Human Rights — Report". Reports are protected against retaliation and handled with confidentiality.
Art. 8 Investigation & remediation
- Every report is investigated impartially, with full confidentiality guaranteed to reporters and victims.
- No retaliation is tolerated against people who report in good faith.
- When a violation is confirmed, Data Riders applies immediate corrective action, supports the affected person(s) and closes the issue with documented remediation.
Art. 9 Training & awareness
- Provide regular training on respect for diversity, harassment prevention and human-rights principles.
- Run periodic awareness campaigns so everyone knows how to recognise, report and prevent violations.
- Include human-rights onboarding for new hires, partners and third parties working with Data Riders.
Art. 10 Governance & monitoring
- Allocate resources for training, monitoring, prevention and remediation of violations.
- Verify compliance and effectiveness of these guidelines through internal audits, performance analyses and active listening mechanisms.
- Include human-rights indicators in leadership dashboards.
Art. 11 Sanctions
Non-compliance with this policy may trigger disciplinary action — including warnings, suspension or termination — and, when applicable, notification to public authorities and civil or criminal proceedings. Supplier contracts may be terminated when violations are confirmed.
Art. 12 Periodic review
This policy is reviewed periodically to incorporate legal advances, best market practices and evolving requirements of DE&I and environmental sustainability standards such as TSM and The Copper Mark.
